Program design

This program brings theory to life through a combination of case studies, practical examples, and interactive sessions. You will gain deep insights into digital strategy and transformation.

 

There are four (half-day) modules and each one is designed to build on the previous one, providing a comprehensive understanding of how digital technologies impact organizations and how to lead successful digital transformations.

Additionally, Kalman Tiboldi will be our guest speaker during the last session of November 7. Kalman is the visionary founder behind GemOne and is currently CTO of the company. GemOne transforms fleet management by offering real-time monitoring and data-driven insights through its advanced telematics solutions. This technology enables businesses to track equipment usage, optimize fleet performance, and ensure timely maintenance, thereby reducing downtime and boosting operational efficiency. 

1. Introduction to digital strategy

Explore how digital technologies are reshaping the business environment and how they enable organizations to create and capture value in new ways. Examine various digitally-driven business models, and how companies can leverage these models to stay competitive. Gain a clear understanding of the strategic implications of digitalization and how to harness its potential to redefine their organization’s value proposition.

3. Profiting from digital platforms and ecosystems

Digital strategies thrive on the active engagement of diverse stakeholders. At the core of modern business strategy lie platforms and innovation ecosystems, which unlock new opportunities for growth and drive transformative innovation. In this module, you will learn how to craft platform strategies that generate powerful network effects and how to orchestrate ecosystems involving various partners. 2. Changing organisations for digital transformation

Internal readiness of an organization is important to implement a successful digital strategy. Learn how to develop strategic agility. The module will cover strategies for transforming existing businesses, with an emphasis on how to change organizational structures and culture to support digital transformation. Practical insights will be provided on aligning the workforce and operational processes to embrace digital initiatives effectively.

4. Leading digital strategy & transformation

In the final module, the focus shifts to leadership. What does it take to lead the design and implementation of a digital strategy within their organization? The module will cover essential leadership skills for driving digital transformation, including how to foster a digital mindset, inspire teams, measuring change and navigate the challenges of change management. Leaders will leave equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to guide their organizations through the complexities of digital transformation and ensure long-term success.

Meet your faculty

Wim Vanhaverbeke is professor Digital Strategy and Innovation at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Antwerp. Renowned for his pioneering work in open innovation, he has co-edited several influential books, including The Oxford Handbook of Open Innovation (OUP, 2024), and published extensively in top-tier journals. His research currently explores the intersection of digital strategies, innovation ecosystems, and sustainability.

In addition to his academic achievements, he is a thought leader sharing regularly insights on digital transformation and innovation strategies which offer valuable perspectives for businesses navigating the complexities of the digital age.

As a speaker and consultant, he has advised numerous global companies and organized workshops that bridge the gap between theory and practice. His expertise and practical approach make him a key figure in the field of digital strategy and transformation
